The most commonly used method in recent value research is Schwartz’s Value Survey (SVS; Schwartz, 1992), which is based on Schwartz’s value theory. According to the theory, the 57 value items of the SVS represent 10 motivationally distinct values that are theoretically derived from universal requirements of human life, namely, Power, Achievement, The Theory of Basic Human values, developed by Shalom H. Schwartz, is a theory in the field of intercultural research. The author considers the theory as an essential extension of previous approaches to comparative intercultural research theories, such as the Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory, and has been extensively applied in cross-cultural studies of individual values. The Theory of Basic Human Values tries to measure Universal Values that are recognised throughout all across groups ignores the fact that values function as a system (Schwartz, 1996, 2004a,b). The scale use correction converts absolute value scores into scores that indicate the relative importance of each value in the value system, i.e., the individual’s value priorities.5 3. The 10 human values measured by the test are Benevolence, Universality, Security, Achievement, Hedonism, Stimulation, Power, Self-Direction, Tradition, and Conformity.

The scale you completed was the "Schwartz Value Survey," created by Shalom Schwartz at Hebrew University, Israel. The scale measures the degree to which you value each of ten domains that Schwartz has found across many cultures. The ten values in this scale are organized into four domains: A self-directional domain that operates on openness and flexibility to change. A universal value domain that is influenced by transcendence. Traditional values domain that is motivated by the laws of conservation. Measurement of the Schwartz values model The 57-item Schwartz Value Survey (SVS; Schwartz, 1992) was created to evaluate these 10 basic human values.
